SOLD! Late 1800's Early 1900's Victorian Silk Coat Lined Mutton Sleeves Amazing Condition
This is an amazing example of the beautiful craftsmanship of this Victorian era clothing. This coat is done with such wonderful sewing techniques which is almost a lost art.
Made of beautiful black silk fabric and embellished on the shoulder and front and back bodice areas as well as the sleeve cuffs. It has hook and eye closer from the neck to med chest area and are all in perfect working order. The mutton sleeves are so beautiful and so well constructed. The coat is pleated in the front and back giving it a lovely flow when worn. Coat is made in a swing style giving the wearer lots of room.
The condition is excellent to very good and in beautiful wearable condition. The only few very minor flaws I can see is on the right shoulder area there are some fabric separation on the silk ribbon area but is a very small area. Also, there are a some tiny pin point holes here and there but are not at all noticeable unless you are looking for them. Other than these are very minor imperfections and I feel this garment is in excellent to very very good vintage condition. Perfect in every way. Such a piece as this in my opinion would be considered museum quality.
